Thames Water supplies water and
wastewater services to 12 million customers in London and the Thames
Valley, stretching from Kent and Essex in the east, to the edges
of Gloucester in the west. Treating and supplying 2,900 million
litres of water and 4,209 million litres of sewerage every day.
Thames Water's results for 1999 showed a pre-tax profit of £521
million with a turnover of £1.3 billion. Non-regulated (Including
International) profit before tax was up 29% to £53 million.
Thames Water's market capitalisation is about £2.8Bn putting
them just outside the top 100 in the Financial Times Stock Exchange
listing.
