First Great Eastern operate 850
trains every day, serving east London, Essex and parts of Suffolk.
Great Eastern has a turnover of £150 million each year and
currently receives support from the Franchising Director to operate
an agreed number of trains. The level of support reduces each year
of the franchise and by the end of the seven year term, Great Eastern
will be paying a premium of over £9 million to the Franchising
Director.
