It's good news for Sainsbury's over the period of April to October
with profits up to 3.2% over the previous 6 months and sales were
up 6% over the same period.
The Chief Executive, Sir Peter Davis, described the company's performance
Sainsbury's the former UK number one retailer, overtaken by Tesco
in 1995, is now nearly a year into a three year plan to restore
itself to the prime position: given the turnaround over the last
12 months, it should be interesting to watch.
More good news for customers is that Sainsbury's plan to match
rivals' aggressive price-cutting plans
during the peak Christmas trading period - excellent!
